The Urban Craft Club
The Urban Craft Club gives adults the chance to get crafty with an urban twist.
Fancy learning a new creative skill for free?… Want to learn how to make felt or weave a tapestry?… Or a way to share ideas, craft together and socialise?… Then come and join the Urban Craft Club, where all levels of skill (or none!) are welcome! Sessions take place every Friday 10am-12.30 at North Library, Manor Gardens, London, N7.
The Club provides the perfect opportunity to learn new creative skills within an informal, relaxed environment with adults of both creative and non-creative backgrounds eager to learn something new. The free weekly workshop aims to remain accessible for all, including those who may never have considered trying crafts.
The recent weaving project proved to be an exciting and addictive process, with one member saying, “I came home so inspired that I finished my piece! I have to say I like it a lot.” The weaving allows plenty of space for experimentation and ‘rule breaking’, proving that there’s something to suit everybody’s taste. So if you like the sound of that, then join the club for the felt making sessions which begin in January.
The Urban Craft Club is run by Rowan Arts with funding from the Transformation fund, government money released to encourage informal adult learning. It continues until March 2010.
